FIVE minutes of fame . . . Caroline Hacking interviews the children
A llama-TREKKING family from Denshaw will feature on Granada Reports tonight as part of Caroline Hacking’s “Postcard From Here” series.
The Vaughans, who only moved to Denshaw a few months ago from Tameside, will be beamed across the North-West from near their home in the village.
The feature looks at different family days out options across the region during summer.
Margaret Vaughan’s family and friends were interviewed by TV’s Caroline, affectionately known as “Our Cal” on the local news bulletin, who herself lives in Saddleworth. Margaret said the children and their friends absolutely loved the experience.
She added: “The llamas are so friendly. It was a bonus to be on television even though it was a bit surreal.”
Roving reporter Caroline said: “They were really good interviewees. We all had a tremendous time. I always like doing features which help promote my home town and put it on the tourist map.
“Llama trekking is essentially taking children for a walk — with a big, furry friend coming along too.
“It’s a great way to enjoy a good day out, coupled with exercise in great surroundings and open air.”
The show goes out on ITV1 at 6pm.
