Date published: 25 August 2009
REVELLERS didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits as they celebrated the end of a life-changing course.
Threshold hosted a party to mark the completion of the Step On and Celebrate programme.
The course is made up of a series of coaching and learning events to help vulnerable people get into training, education and employment.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Jim McArdle, his consort, Councillor Kay Knox, Alan Hardy, chief executive at Oldham Athletic, and Councillor John McCann joined in the celebrations.
The party was held at Oldham Cricket Club and the crowds were entertained by circus skills, Wii-Fit activities, photography workshops, treasure hunts, a magician and a bouncy castle.
Local rapper D-Rydah performed at the event and also handed out copies of his recently-released CD.
Threshold choir Smooth Sounds gave their debut performance at the event.
