ASPIRING actors and actresses are wanted to help make Oldham Theatre Workshop’s Christmas show something spectacular.
The award-winning drama group offers a range of opportunities for young thespians interested in acting, singing and dancing.
Autumn term starts on September 12, with a number of 10-week courses available to anyone aged from six to 16. Youngsters will be encouraged to use their imaginations with the help of professional workshop leaders.
Councillor John McCann, cabinet member for community services and housing, said: “Oldham Theatre Workshop is open to all youngsters. There are a number of opportunities to get involved and all you need is a love of performing to take part.” Auditions for more experienced performers are being held for this year’s Christmas show “The Legend of Barry Squillilosh and his Pursuit of Happiness”.
Talented actors aged eight to 25 are wanted for a number of roles in this adventurous piece of theatre.
The story follows one man’s attempt to make big life changes to his life. With a head full of questions and a heart full of life, Barry Squillilosh sets off in pursuit of ultimate happiness with sacrifices to make along the way.
Auditions take place tomorrow and Tuesday at The Museum in Greaves Street.
