Fun day to add sparkle

AN action-packed fun day has been organised to bring a spot of summer cheer to Lees and Springhead.

Members of Lees Community Association have worked with Springhead Football Club to make the event, which takes place from 12-5pm on Sunday at the club’s ground in St John Street, a success.

There will be football competitions, games, childrens entertainers, arts and crafts, food and stalls.

Oldham (Lees) Youth Band will provide the music and there will also be a dance troupe and DJ.

Voluntary Action Oldham offered funding for the event through their Community Grants programme and raffle prizes have been donated by various businesses in Lees.

Money raised at last year’s fun day was used to set up a Lees Community Association website at www.leesvillage.org. Funds raised this year will go towards future events.
