Music fans set for festival treat

A STELLAR line up of international stars are heading for Oldham for a week-long musical extravaganza.
The Seven Songs festival will see seven events take place over seven days across the borough.
New York’s incredible Hypnotic Brass Ensemble launch the programme at Uppermill Civic Hall on Saturday. They have been wowing audiences at all the major festivals including Glastonbury.
Colombian band leader, musician and producer Will “Quantic” Holland and his new band Combo Barbaro play Uppermill on Tuesday.
Mr Boon’s Tea Party, featuring former Inspiral Carpet Clint Boon and a selection of Manchester bands, will also take place, though the venue is still to be announced.
Other festival highlights include a show by acclaimed folk artist Jim Moray at Shaw Playhouse on September 4 and a showcase of artists from Manchester record label Humble Soul at The Castle on Union Street on September 3.
