THEATRICAL youngsters will stage a unique piece of musical drama following a week of intensive training.
Gallery Oldham will host tomorrow’s event which features members of the council’s Passport to Summer theatre programme.
The children will showcase everything they have learned during an action-packed week of theatrical activities spent with the 2-Faced Theatre Company.
The one-hour show will feature singing, dancing and a number of scenes from current West End musicals including “13” which has just finished on Broadway.
The 2-Faced Theatre Company is a theatre school with a difference, founded on strong moral values and providing opportunities for young people to shine.
Youngsters have been taught by the theatre company staff — some of whom have played lead roles on the West End.
It has a number of household names supporting its cause including Oldham’s very own Philip Schofield, actor Brian Blessed and opera star Leslie Garrett.
Sessions during the week at The Centre, in Union Street, have been structured to equip every child with skills for life, such as improved self-confidence and self-esteem plus enhanced communication skills.
The workshop gives youngsters with a passion for performing a unique chance to be taught in all major theatre disciplines by professionals while also making new friends with a shared interest.
Tomorrow’s all-singing, all-dancing spectacle will give all pupils a chance to show off their new-found talents before an audience of family and friends.
The show takes place at Gallery Oldham from 7pm and will be watched by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Jim McArdle, his consort, Councillor Kay Knox and the borough’s first-ever youth mayor, Mohammed Adil.
