BREEZE Hill School has had another record year for outstanding GCSE results.
This year’s figure for five A*-C grades hit a record 48 per cent — 21 per cent including English and Maths. Sixteen students achieved 10 or more A*-C grades.
Almost 99 per cent of students achieved at least one qualification.
Head girl Ashfa llyas achieved an A* and seven A grades in her total of 12A*-C.
She said: “I am delighted with my results and all my hard work has paid off.
“I want to thank my teachers because without their help and extra activities I would not have been able to achieve great results.”
Ashfa, of Clarksfield, is now hoping to study A-level biology, chemistry and maths at Oldham Sixth-Form College.
Other top students who gained the best results were Mohammed Zohaib, who achieved an A* and six A grades.
For the second time, Breeze Hill ran an A-Level course in Urdu attended by former students. Seventeen of the 18 students achieved grade A at either A or AS Level.
Head teacher Bernard Phillips said: “Students and staff will be very pleased with those results which set new records for the school.
“They clearly demonstrate the progress made by students in their time at Breeze Hill.
“We expect those results to show a high value added score for progress throughout the five years of education at the school.
“As always we are pleased that our results show progress across the whole ability range with gifted and talented students and special needs students all performing well.”
