How to trace your family tree
Date published: 01 September 2009
HELP with tracing family and local history comes from two events at Oldham Local Studies and Archives.
The Union Street centre has two courses starting in October, one an introduction to basic skills such as using computerised records, recording family history, civil registers and the Census.
The 10-week course, costing £35, starts on October 6, and the tutor is local historian Colin McInnes.
And there is also a short course on three Saturdays, starting on October 3, on how to read old handwriting — an introduction to palaeography.
