Real ale and music to flow at festival

SCORES of beer-lovers will share top flight ales at Saddleworth’s Beer Festival on Friday and Saturday.
Organised by The Friends of Saddleworth Museum and Art Gallery, the festival, in its 18th year, will feature nine local real ales, including Phoenix of Heywood, Shaw’s of Dukinfield, and microbreweries from Greenfield, Mossley and Rochdale.
On Friday night, music will be provided by the Pennine Jazz Band, a regular popular group at the festival, and there will also be music on Saturday evening.
The event, sponsored by local pubs and breweries and assisted by the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), will be staged at the Museum Gallery, High Street, Uppermill.
It runs from 7.30-11pm on Friday, with tickets costing £2.50. On Saturday the festival opens from 1-5pm, when tickets are priced at £2, with concessions at £1.
