BANNED books are the topic of a new reading group run by the Saddleworth branch of the Workers’ Educational Association.
Seven notorious novels written in the 20th century will be digested and discussed in the reading group run by tutor Chris Foley.
The course starts in January, 2010, but anyone interested should enrol this month.
Also on offer is a Write your Life Story class and a Saddleworth History class, starting on September 22, while an Antique Appreciation session will be held a week later.
The branch’s annual meeting will be held at Saddleworth Museum on Friday at 7.30pm, when David Beilby will give a talk entitled Borneo — A Natural Wonder.
All classes will be held at Saddleworth School, Uppermill, 7pm-9pm, and for more details call Anne Buckley on 01457-872 881 or Josephine Johnson on 01457-874 005.
