Arson probe at flat
Date published: 07 September 2009
AN investigation has been launched following a blaze in a three-storey house in Blakelock Street, Crompton, at 12.13pm yesterday.
Fire crews from Oldham and Chadderton were called to the detached property and discovered three seats of fire, one in the first-floor bedroom and two in the attic bedroom.
Officers spent three hours at the scene and confined the fire to the first-floor bedroom of the rented property, which was unoccupied at the time.
Half of the house was damaged by the fire and officers believe the cause was deliberate.
The home-owner was informed of the fire, which police and fire teams are investigating.
