The Scots Guardsman at Mills Hill
A recently-overhauled Royal Scot-class locomotive Scots Guardsman passed through Mills Hill, Chadderton, on Sunday, en route from Carnforth to Scarborough.
It was a private excursion carrying brownies on a day out. To mark the occasion the tour company renamed the train The Girl Guide after another Royal Scot-class loco which was scrapped in the 1960s. Picture by Evening Chronicle reader David Newton.
