Man accused of jogger attack

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attacking a jogger in Scouthead.
Eugene Connell, of Brighton Road, appeared before Oldham magistrates yesterday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and affray.
The case was committed to Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court and Connell was remanded on bail until December 15.
Just after 10am on August 22, a 49-year-old jogger was attacked as he ran down Thurston Clough Road in Oldham.
He suffered severe injuries to his leg and other parts of his body and was rushed to the Royal Oldham Hospital for emergency surgery.
A 25-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of assault remains on police bail until November 16.
