Church ap-peal

A peal of bells will be heard across Greater Manchester this evening as churches gear up for a weekend of prayer.

The Bishop of Bolton, the Rt Rev Chris Edmondson, has devised the event to encourage more people to think about ways of praying and the times they choose to worship.

Churches will ring their bells for 10 minutes from 6pm to invite people to visit their local church or pray wherever they are.
