Car-wash weekend
Date published: 17 September 2009
Drivers can have a gleaming car and raise money for charity at special so-called “soapy days” this weekend.
Firefighters in Oldham and Chadderton are taking part in Britain’s largest national car-wash to raise funds for the Firefighters’ Charity.
Crews will join thousands of firemen and women across the country on Saturday for National Car Wash Day.
The Firefighters’ Charity helps fire crews to get back to work after accidents or injury, with emotional and physical support.
Chadderton station on Broadway will be hand-washing cars on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm, while Oldham station in Lees Road is taking part on Saturday, also from 10am to 4pm, in return for donations.
