Oldham Council report
DETAILED plans are in place to keep Oldham Council’s finances under control without affecting vital services.
Councillor Peter Dean asked the Liberal Democrats how they would claw back a projected £4.5 million overspend in 2009/10 and which services would be hit.
Finance supremo Councillor Lynne Thompson said plans were in place to make sure each directorate stuck to the agreed budget. Council leader Howard Sykes said: “We have achieved £20 million in efficiencies — cash in the bank not plans on paper.”
