THE owner of a former pub that was deemed an eyesore, has been ordered by magistrates to pay more than £1,200 in fines and court costs.
Oldham Council successfully prosecuted Mahmood Nazir, owner of the former Malt and Hops Pub, Lees Road, after he failed to carry out work on the property and allowed it to become an eyesore.
Mr Nazir was served with a notice to improve the condition of his premises but failed to comply and did not attend Oldham Magistrates Court.
He was fined £610 in his absence and ordered to pay £650 costs.
