THREE nurseries in Oldham are hoping a special visitor will join them when they don their pyjamas to raise funds.
The nurseries have registered to take part in Bob the Builder’s Big PJ Day tomorrow to raise money for The New Children’s Hospital Appeal.
Stockbrook Children’s Centre, Dorothy May Nursery School and Satalite Toddler Group have now been entered into a prize draw to win a visit from children’s favourite — Bob the Builder.
Bob the Builder, who is celebrating his 10th birthday, has been asking people to wear their pyjamas and donate £1 to the appeal to help them in their final push to reach the £20 million target for parental accommodation and additional and up-to-date equipment at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Jenny Barrett, from Satalite Toddler Group, said: “The children love coming to nursery in their pyjamas and it is a fun way for them to be able to help other children.
“For our pyjama party we are planning a raffle and a cake sale — let’s just hope that Bob the Builder is able to join us for our party.” The appeal has been raising money to help fund projects within the new Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, now open in central Manchester.
It has been focusing on providing additional and up-to date equipment for diagnosis and treatment as well as a place for parents to stay on or close to their child’s ward during treatment. Organisers have £1.8 million left to raise to ensure that they hit the £20 million target.
