TWO men have been remanded in custody following a police shooting which left one man in hospital.
Richard Walsh (25), of Mill View Court, Heron Street, Werneth, and his brother, Jonathon Walsh (21), of Dob Brook Close, Newton Heath, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence and possession of a firearm in a public place.
Officers from GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group took part in a series of raids near Co–op in Haslingden, Lancashire, on Friday as part of a pre-planned operation to crackdown on armed robbery.
A 29-year-old Salford man was shot by police and is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital where he has been placed under arrest.
The Walsh brothers were remanded in custody until October 12 to appear back at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is handling the investigation into the shooting.
