‘Stunning’ homes and open spaces

PLANS for 100 high quality new homes have been drawn up in a bid to transform Werneth.
Keepmoat Homes has revealed proposals for a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom homes for sale and rent as well as a new linear park linking Edward Street and St John’s Church.
Councillor Mohib Uddin, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “These proposals will help transform the area, providing stunning new housing and beautiful open green spaces.
This is going to be a fantastic place to live.
“Families will love that there’s a new health centre planned for Featherstall Road South, and for commuters the new Metrolink station will be just a short walk away.
“I hope people will attend the consultation event and take the opportunity to influence the scheme before detailed proposals are drawn up.”
Residents are invited to find out more about the development on Wednesday at Christ Church in Block Lane from 3-7pm.
Once the consultation events have taken place, Keepmoat Homes will submit their planning application in November with a decision expected in February, 2010.
