‘Kidnap’ girl is safe

POLICE have tracked down a girl they feared had been abducted in Medlock Vale.
Two men were spotted dragging the 14 -year-old into a car on Hulme Street on Sunday night.
Several people who saw the incident were concerned, prompting the police to appeal for information.
Officers traced the girl following house to house inquires and no offence was found to have taken place.
Det Sgt Tim Taylor said: “We would like to thank the community for helping the police with this inquiry.”
