STAFF at Tesco’s Huddersfield Road store used pedal power to raise money for a good cause.
Members of the team continuously rode an exercise bike for 24 hours in exchange for donations from shoppers in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton.
The event raised a huge £921. Tesco staff are now poised to pass the torch on to a fund-raising team at Salton Europe in Failsworth, who will carry it on a sponsored walk on November 6.
Allegra Holbrook, from Dr Kershaw’s appeals office, said: “We are all very impressed with the effort the team put in. They should be very proud for raising such a fantastic amount.”
