POLICE have launched a fresh appeal after a woman was headbutted on a night out in Lees.
The 24-year-old victim was with a friend in High Street at 2.10am on Sunday, July 26, when she was approached by a group of men.
As they walked by, one of the men headbutted the woman, knocking her to the ground before running off. She suffered minor facial injuries.
He is described as white, in his 20s and was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
Det Cons Ian Lloyd, of Oldham CID, said: “To attack a woman in such a violent and unprovoked manner is absolutely disgusting.
“While the woman was fortunate not to suffer more serious injuries, the attack has left her emotionally scarred and frightened to go out.
“The man responsible is a complete thug and I would appeal to anyone who recognises him to the call police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
