YOUNG people (above) from the Holts and Alts area were treated to a day at Alton Towers this week, courtesy of their local community.
The free tickets, worth over £1,000 in total, were donated to the Youth Inclusion Project (YIP) in Holts, which is a joint venture between Positive Steps Oldham and The Children’s Society.
The project aims to engage young people to take part in positive activities, as well as reduce offending and anti-social behaviour. The tickets were donated by Mrs Stachini, from the Holts Tenants’ and Residents’ group, and the travel was funded by Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP)
Val Bergin, YIP manager, said: “It was a very generous gesture from the community, and the young people certainly enjoyed their day at Alton Towers. It was a really nice end to their half term.”
