A 35-YEAR-OLD taxi driver from Primrose Bank is to face trial at Manchester Crown Court accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl after picking her up in his cab.

Abdul Azad, of Chelmsford Street, was further charged with imprisoning the 17-year-old against her will in the early hours of September 27. The city’s magistrates were told that Mr Azad, who was allowed bail, would deny the charges.

Mr Azad will reappear before a judge on February 4, next year.
