CHILDREN at a Royton primary school stepped back in time several thousand years to celebrate Book Week.
The theme was Ancient Egypt and Blackshaw Lane pupils became Egyptians for a day at the end of the event which included library visits, special assemblies and talks from community librarians.
They also met author Tony Langham, a West Yorkshire teacher famous for his children’s stories and poems, especially the “Creepy, Crawly Calypso” book and music CD.
