Teenage Emma is top of crops

A TEENAGER underwent a hair-raising experience to raise over £600 for Cancer Research UK.
Emma Jackson, from Dobcross, had never once cut her hair, which measured 38in long and almost touched the back of her knees.
The teenager decided to make the most of her first trim by having the haircut sponsored to raise much-needed funds.
A total of 21in was chopped off by hairdressers at the Zig Zag salon in Waterhead, with £662 raised as a result.
But the sheared strands did not get swept up and thrown away as the cut hair was donated to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children with cancer and leukaemia.
Proud mum Susan Jackson said: “She had never had her hair cut since she was a baby, but decided that because it was such a big thing for her to get it cut, she should do something special.
“Her auntie Teresa Mulhall died from cancer in 2007 aged 39 so Emma wanted to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
“Emma was fine after the first cut, and really loves her new style.
“She was also pleased to be able to help the two charities.”
