THREE Mossley woman will take to the floor with “Strictly Come Dancing” champion Camilla Dallerup to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Irene Dyer, Gemma Walls and Jo McMartin will be challenged at Manchester’s Midland Hotel on November 15 to learn four different dance styles in one day.

The Chance to Dance challenge is raising funds to help Marie Curie nurses care for terminally ill people in their own homes.

Dance novices and experienced dancers will have to complete three workshops, from ballroom to Bollywood, before joining a mass choreographed finale, taught by top dance professionals, including reigning “Strictly Come Dancing” champion Camilla Dallerup.

Gemma said: “A Chance to Dance is a brilliant opportunity to help support Marie Curie and the nursing care it provides. The event will allow me to try new dance styles and workshops that otherwise I wouldn’t normally do, all for a good cause. I’d urge anyone out there interested to register too.”

Hannah Taylor, a Marie Curie community fundraiser, added: “The event is open to people no matter what their dance experience or ability. I’ve got two left feet but I’m still having a go.

“It’s about having fun and learning something new while raising money to help people affected by cancer and other terminal illnesses.”

Participants pay a registration fee of £15 to secure their place and are asked to raise sponsorship for completing the dance challenge.
