Jemmie’s pledge to help school

A FORMER nurse has chosen to support charities close to her heart during her year as President of Oldham Inner Wheel Club.
Jemmie Srivastava, wife of the late Oldham GP Bipin Srivastava, used to be nursing sister in charge of the special care baby unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital before moving into district nursing.
She has chosen to support children with special needs at the Kingfisher School in Chadderton and Marie Curie Cancer Care with funds raised at events held during her year in office.
Mrs Srivastava, who was Oldham’s first Asian magistrate, has been involved with many organisations aimed at uniting Oldham’s different communities.
