PLAY time is about to go from good to super at a Chadderton school thanks to a £4,000 boost.
Christ Church Primary has received funding from the RBS Supergrounds scheme to transform its yard into an outdoor learning and sensory area for the whole school to enjoy.
The scheme is led by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and managed by national charity Learning Through Landscapes with support from Groundwork.
Since it started in 2004 the scheme has given more than £632,000 to 158 schools.
Debra Payton, head teacher at Christ Church, said: “It’s fantastic that RBS Supergrounds is supporting the development of the playground at the school.
“School playgrounds are one of the few safe outdoor spaces that are available to children.
“For many children who do not have access to a garden or live near a park, school grounds are probably their only experience of the outdoors and an important part of the learning environment.
“We are really excited about working with RBS Supergrounds to ensure that the playground makes a real difference to pupils lives.”
