School’s end of an era
Date published: 16 November 2009
BREEZE Hill School has held its last presentation evening before it becomes an academy.
Former pupil, Det Sgt Alison Troisi, from the child protection unit at Greater Manchester Police, was guest speaker at the event at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Breeze Hill and Counthill will be replaced by an academy on the existing school sites next September before moving into a new building in Waterhead.
Head teacher Bernard Phillips challenged the new academy — which will be run by Oldham College — not to lose sight of Breeze Hill’s values.
Tributes were also paid to teacher Jim Gould who died suddenly in June, aged 56.
