Date published: 16 November 2009
Two Manchester United football stewards were due in court today accused of breaking the legs of a Manchester City fan at September’s derby match at Old Trafford.
Mark Roberts (46), of George Street, Oldham, and Paul Stringer (45), of Runcorn, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the fan who was caught smoking in the ground. The fan was allegedly pushed down a flight of stairs, breaking both his legs, while being ejected from Old Trafford.
