Date published: 16 November 2009
A MAN is in intensive care after escaping a fire at a house in Derby Road, Failsworth, last night.
Crews from Hollins and Chadderton were called out at 10pm to find the mid-terrace house well alight from a blaze that started in the kitchen.
Flames had spread through the house and the roof space of adjacent properties was filled with smoke. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched. The man did not have a working smoke alarm.
