A HOST of golden daffodils will be on show in Shaw next spring after a mass planting campaign by local rotarians.
New president Peter Lomas, of Crompton and Royton Rotary Club, decided he wanted to make a lasting impact in his year of office, by using daffodil bulbs. He has seen the carpet of yellow flowers which spring up each season in Chadderton Way and decided to give Crompton Way the same treatment.
After getting in touch with the council, an agreement was reached to share funding between the rotary club and the Royton, Shaw and Crompton District Partnership. Oldham Council leader Howard Sykes has also promised money for more daffs along Ripponden Road, Broadway and Huddersfield Road.
