TWO Manchester United football stewards have appeared at Trafford Magistrates’ Court accused of breaking the legs of a Manchester City fan.
Mark Roberts (46), of George Street, Oldham, and Paul Stringer (45), of Runcorn, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
The fan was caught smoking in the ground during the derby match at Old Trafford on September 20. He was allegedly pushed down a flight of stairs, breaking both his legs, while being ejected.
The case was adjourned for a committal hearing at the same court on January 11.
