Stage set for music talent

RISING star Joseph Donmall will join Oldham Symphony Orchestra for an evening of classical delights.
The former Crompton House pupil is now principal cellist with the Halle Youth Orchestra and the Halle Youth String Quartet.
He will perform Haydn’s cello concerto in C with the orchestra at Hulme Grammar School on Sunday.
Joseph (18) began playing the cello when he was seven and has won a number of distinguished awards during his career after studying at the Royal Northern College of Music.
He has performed solo at the Bridgewater Hall, Chethams School of Music and the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
In addition to Haydn’s cello concerto, the orchestra will also be performing “In the Steppes of Central Asia” by Borodin and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony Number Four”.
The orchestra will by led by Ann Heeks and conducted by Adam Robinson.
