Discipline date for council manager
Date published: 18 November 2009
The Oldham council manager suspended after Nazi memorabilia was offered for sale on eBay via his council e-mail address faces a disciplinary hearing.
Ian Meynell, the Streetscene manager for Saddleworth and Lees, was suspended in October after a copy of “Mein Kampf”, two German war medals and a Second World War German cigarette card collection were offered for sale.
He said at the time: “I am looking into this, they are not my sales.”
Now, following an investigation by council bosses, a disciplinary hearing will be held within the next two weeks.
