New weather warning
Date published: 20 November 2009
A new weather warning has been issued for Oldham today — despite the borough escaping a predicted overnight gale-force tirade.
A second storm system will move in through tomorrow, bringing with it gusts up to 75mph. The heaviest of the rain will also be tomorrow although there will be some rain into Sunday.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care as high winds have the potential to uproot trees while flooding will also be an issue as streams and rivers threaten to spill over.
Latest figures have revealed that Manchester has seen more than twice its normal rainfall so far for November.
