A SHOLVER newsagent discovered a man’s body in Swift Road this morning.
Rana Akram, who owns RMA News in Colleridge Road, went to investigate at 7am after a customer told him they had seen a man lying down at the side of the road.
Mr Akram said: “I went out to have a look and found the man’s body. He looked like he was around 65-years-old. It was very dark but I could see that he had his eyes wide open.
“We called an ambulance and that arrived very quickly and then the police came and covered up the body. I did not recognise the man.”
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a man’s body was found and that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The case has now been passed to the coroner.
