A man has been jailed for firearms offences after he was arrested by officers investigating the murder of Oldham man Junaid Khan.
Milad Finn (21), of Lauriston Close, Gatley, was jailed for a year at Manchester Crown Court on Friday.
He admitted possessing prohibited ammunition at an earlier hearing. Two live rounds of ammunition were discovered at Finn’s home when officers investigating Junaid’s murder searched a number of addresses in Oldham, Tameside and Stockport in August.
A 26-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possessing ammunition and money laundering is still on bail.
Junaid (21), of Cotton Mill Close, Werneth, died in the car park of the Block Lane surgery in Chadderton in July.
Junaid was shot at twice and was hit from behind in the legs and groin, the second time at close range, with an automatic weapon. He was hit by 17 bullets.
A silver Mitsubishi Challenger was seen in the area at the same time and was later found burned out in the car park of the Ancora restaurant, formerly The Red Barn, on Broadway.
Anyone with any information about Junaid’s murder is asked to call police on 0161-856 3691 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
