Chron, anyone? Graham Sinclair at Denshaw Village Hall.
Denshaw householders can still get their Chronicle every day, thanks to a pair of volunteers who sell them at the Village Hall.
Graham and Jean Sinclair have volunteered to become newsagents as a temporary measure after the local Post Office closed, and the Junction pub, which used to supply papers, changed hands.
The couple, who are on the Village Hall committee, have volunteered to sell them there every day from 2 pm to 3 30pm.
Jean explained : “One of the neighbours is nearly 90 and was taking the bus to Oldham every day to pick up a paper, another was travelling to Moorside.
“We have a bit of spare time and wanted to help elderly people as the weather is getting colder, and we also know mums picking children up from Denshaw School used to collect their papers as they arrived.
“We have sent leaflets around the village and let the school know what we are doing. We hope it is just a temporary measure.”
