Revised plan suits school to a T

K for a £1.8 million extension to Stanley Road School in Chadderton have been lodged with Oldham Council.
It will create a junior class block, additional reception class and security fencing around a new car parking area, with landscaped playground.
The T-shaped extension will have two glazed corridor links.
The school dates back to 1903 and is made of smooth bricks with terracotta dressings.
Planning officers said original designs for the extension were over-complicated and would impact on the historical character and appearance of the school.
Now amended plans will ensure the contemporary extension sympathetically blends with the Victorian school building, they say.
