Fund-raisers’ magnificent moustaches
Date published: 07 December 2009
FROM clean shaven to splendidly hirsute, these men have come up with a hair-raising boost for charity.
The PE staff at Oldham Sixth Form College grew moustaches for the whole of November to raise money for Prostate Cancer Charity.
Their lip tickling efforts are designed to “change the face of men’s health” through raising awareness of the disease and money through sponsorship.
And the plucky gents have already inspired others to join in the fun with other departments also taking part — from maths tutors to IT technicians.
One man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and it’s the most common cancer in men in the UK.
It’s not yet known how much has been raised as sponsor money is still being collected.
