THE project which is providing new state-of-the-art health facilities across Oldham is in line for a national Community Partnerships’ Award.
The Oldham Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) is shortlisted in the best housing, construction and infrastructure category.
Oldham’s 25-year LIFT partnership brings together NHS Oldham, Oldham Council, the North-West Ambulance Service and a private sector partner to develop community facilities closer to where people live.
LIFT is currently investing in three new health facilities, including the recently opened flagship Oldham Integrated Care Centre in Oldham town centre.
A new council-led well-being centre for Chadderton is due to open in the next few weeks, a health and well-being centre is half way through its construction programme in Royton, while building will begin at three more health and well-being centres in Werneth, Shaw and Crompton, and Fitton Hill next year.
LIFT is in the awards category for partnerships which can demonstrate how they are working to build communities in which people want to live and work while minimising impacts on the local and wider environment.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in February.
