NEARING completion . . . the new radiotherapy centre
OLDHAM’s new £17 million radiotherapy centre is nearing completion.
Builders are putting the final touches to the outside of the building before scaffolding is removed.
Based at the Royal Oldham Hospital, the state-of-the-art centre is due to open early next year when radiotherapy treatment will be offered to around 70 patients each day.
Brought to Oldham by the Christie Hospital, the satellite centre will be run by Christie staff, and has been aided by generous Oldhamers who raised a massive £100,000 towards the cost in only eight months.
