Concert to help children

music-lovers are expected to turn out in their droves for a special free concert tomorrow.
The four-hour show at Dobcross Band Club focuses on guests bringing toys for disadvantaged children. The toys will then be distributed by the Salvation Army to needy children across Greater Manchester.
The Billy Coxon Seven headline the event, which gets under way at 7.30pm, supported by another local band, Heavy Soul.
The Coxon’s lead singer Carl Taylor, from Uppermill, said: “Last year, guests donated 500 toys but we are hoping to top that figure.
“Our band actually has 11 members and the Dobcross Band Club event means we all get a great chance to shine.
“All we want are people to enjoy our music, and for each adult to bring a wrapped Christmas present for a child — stating what sex it is suitable for and the age group.”
