£100,000 revamp for sports centre

MEMBERS of Oldham Sports Centre will soon be able to work out in style thanks to a £100,000 revamp.
Brand new cardiovascular equipment will be installed in the gym along with new flooring and decor.
The cafe will undergo necessary health and safety work which will improve the appearance and condition.
Major re-grouting of the pools will be done by a specialist company without the need to drain all the water.
The changing rooms will get a makeover with new vanity units, new cubicles and general decoration including new ceilings and lighting.
Some of the flooring will be replaced throughout the sports centre and other general maintenance work will be carried out.
Spokesperson Steve Eyre said: “It’s all great news for our customers with the refurbishment of Saddleworth, the opening of the magnificent new Well-being Centre in Chadderton and now a major refurbishment at Oldham Sports Centre the facilities are just getting better. It’s really exiting to see these major improvements in our service.”
To allow the work to take place the gym, swimming pool and sauna will be closed until Monday, December 21.
The main hall and bowls hall fully reopen on Saturday while the squash courts and climbing room reopen on Monday.
The cafe will be open for business on Saturday, December 19.
