Louise Pearson . . . bakery’s new school visitor
A SHAW woman is toasting her new job — helping a family baker teach children about healthy eating.
Louise Pearson (24) has been appointed by Warburtons as its new school visitor.
A qualified primary school teacher, Louise joins the team based at the bakery in Glebe Street, Shaw, and will be responsible for touring primary schools in the region to explain to pupils about a healthy diet.
The sessions that Louise runs are designed by Warburtons to complement the national curriculum and include a workshop on healthy sandwich recipes and a practical bread-making demonstration.
Warburtons has been baking bread for more than 100 years and produces 600,000 loaves a week in Shaw. Louise is no stranger to the firm, having worked part-time at the bakery for the past eight years.
She said: “It’s a great company to work for. Everybody is valued and colleagues are very supportive and friendly.”
