Deborah Downes: 'Lived life to the full'
THE family of Deborah Downes, who died after a car accident in Lees on Friday, have paid tribute to her.
Mrs Downes, of Mossley, was driving her Ford Focus when it hit a stone wall at the junction of High Street and Hartshead Street just before midnight.
The 40-year-old was taken to hospital with serious internal injuries but died the following day.
Her husband, Daniel, said: “Debbie was the life and soul of the party. She was very sociable and a fun and outgoing character.
“Debbie had a large family — her mum, Anne, her brothers, Stuart, Harry, John and Michael, her sister, Denise, and members of their families — and also had a wide circle of friends and colleagues. She was very family-oriented and would always take care of her family and friends.
“She enjoyed reading and loved and lived life to the full, socialising with both family and friends.
“She was a much-loved wife to Daniel and a true friend to everyone who knew her.
“Her sudden death has devastated us all and she will always be remembered in our hearts.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to call them on 0161-856 8473.
