THREE media students will launch their careers at the BBC in Manchester.
David Barker, Andrew Turner and Rebecca Warrior have won three of the nine places on its annual Mentor Scheme.
The Oldham Sixth From College trio had to undergo an intensive interview process to whittle down the candidates.
They will receive one-to-one mentoring from a BBC staff member, learn different aspects of programme production, complete work experience and produce a TV, radio or multi-media project.
A total of 24 Oldham Sixth Form College students have won placements since 2001 — including James Pugh who was successful last year. His film and radio work was showcased at an event in September hosted by North-West Tonight presenter Gordon Burns
Fiona Douglas-Reeves, head of media studies, said: “We are thrilled.”
